A BRCA Conversation for Passover
Passover is a multi-generational celebration of freedom. What a perfect time to learn about our health as Jews and to gather medical information together to help create a healthier family.
Tonight, we place a BRCA Branch on the Seder Plate, to represent the importance of each family’s medical history tree. Certain gene changes called hereditary mutations can cause cancers to run in families. Hereditary cancer risk can be passed down from the mother or the father to daughters or sons. Knowledge gives us the opportunity to consider options, to make informed decisions and ultimately, to save lives.
